Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean complete martial art system with dynamic sports components. A Full Medal Olympic sport since 2000, it is the most popular martial art in the world with over 30 million active practitioners.

 

Taekwondo is one of the most systematic and scientific martial arts that teaches more than physical fighting skills. It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training our body and mind.

The sport is aimed for people who like a challenge and want to improve themselves everyday. And taking the first step to a better, healthier life is as easy as grabbing a bottle of water and coming down to the club for your first free session!

Patterns (Poomsae)

Poomsae or patterns are a specific sequence of movements, which incorporate various stances, blocks, strikes and kicks that are the essence of Taekwondo.

 

Training in Poomsae, puts focus on core strength, balance and explosive movements executed with tremendous accuracy. Poomsae are also an integral part of Taekwondo gradings required to progress to the next level. 

Sparring (Kyourigi)

Kyourigi, also known as Sports Taekwondo is one of the most important aspects of Taekwondo, with a specific focus on training for competitions. 

​

Showcased by its characteristic high and spinning kicks, sparring put a special emphasis on being dynamic, agile and strong.
